BARNARD

Weather maps
BARNARD

Hi everyone!  Ron & Sage here!

Ron:  My Sister Peggy and my Parents are having to deal with the first real threat of a hurricane since they moved down to Pensacola.  Isaac is slowly moving across the gulf and may hit Pensacola.  Being up here we kind of felt left out and we had our own front heading toward us.

Sage:  So we named it Barnard.

Ron: Barnard came in around mid afternoon.

Sage: Yes and when it started raining it came down in drops.  Big wet ones!

Ron;  I think the worst part came in around 8:00 because it really got dark.

Sage: And it stayed that way all night!  Tell them what happened when we went out at 10:00.

Ron:  I will!  Well we went out so Sage could make a deposit

Sage:  It had stopped raining. I think it was the eye of Barnard.

Ron: Anyway a couple of yards away there was a big flash and loud bang.

Sage:  And the whole other side of our block was without power.

Sage:  I did what any big brave black lab would do.

Ron:  Yep she ran for the house and wanted back in.  What happened in Barnard's furry a large branch had fallen and taken out the power lines.

Sage:  I heard the storm surge on Lake George was indescribable.

Ron :  That's a good way of putting it.

Ron:  Now that Barnard has pretty much passed we are just waiting to see how Isaac pans out down south.  They have their windows covered and all the yard decorations moved inside.  Now they are waiting to see if they need to get out of there or can they stay and ride out the storm.  It all depends on what category the storm is going to be and where it is going to hit.  It looks as if right now it is going West of Pensacola.  We will keep you updated on any new info on Isaac or Barnard as we can!

Sage: Till next time!

Ron here!
Hi everyone! Thanks for all the birthday wishes. I had a very nice birthday. At lunch Kathy, Tammy ( aka the stalker) and Kathy's son Keven and his wife Kris took me out for Mexican. We had a great time. They were wondering why Kathy did not decorate my shop for my birthday. We informed them that her birthday is in 5 days and I would get even if she did. It was nice Tammy came along specially since she and Kathy bought my lunch. We will have to take her along more often. Well Sage was so excited to see me when I got home. As you can see by the picture below.

But Rick and Pat next door sent some cake over for my birthday and Mike stopped by and we went down town Hobart for more Mexican food.  It was a Mexican birthday.  Sage is Mikes buddy and all I had to do is say Mike is coming to see you and she was at the window looking for him.  Mike spent some time in the back yard throwing a toy for Sage to chase.  Sage was happy to humor him.  My Sister Peggy and my parents sent a package to me so I would have something to open on my birthday.  They sent some tropical place marts for the kitchen table.  They are very nice that's Mom, Dad and Peggy!

Speaking of Peggy she was trying to teach Sage to sit up in the chair in the living room when she was here.  But Sage is too good of a dogie for that.  But she has taken to taking naps in the guest bedroom.  Oh is that Peggy's new pillow she sleeping on?  Hope she doesn't drull.

See you later!

Ron: Ok thanks that was nice.
 Sage: You get any presents?

Ron: Ok that was a little bazar!
Sage: He use to play for Three Dog Night.

Sage here!

Now that I'm 8 months old I thought it would be a good time to again go over some of the things I've learned.

You can get away with waking Ron up once on a weekend morning to go outside.  The second time gets you locked up in the laundry room.

If your human is taking a nap on the couch and you want him up, just put a ball covered in slobber in his face.  That will get him moving.

Ice cubes are great!

You can always find a stick to chew on.   It's as if they grow on tree's.

The Vet does not use an oral thermometer.

Ron will not warn you about the Vet not using an oral thermometer.

It is very hard to catch the little red light from a laser pointer.  But I'll keep trying.

Sprinklers do not warn you before they spray you.

Water taste great out of the garden hose.

Toads can hop when you least expect it.

Car rides are fun but if you put your head out the window watch out for a bug up your nose.

Don't turn your back on a human with a garden hose.

Belly rubs are the best!

Humans don't like a wet nose in their ear.

Best time to roll in the grass is right after a bath.

Best place to sit when your human is putting on his shoes is right between his feet.  This way you don't miss a thing.

It is  a dogs job to lay in a spot that your human will have to step over you to get to where he is going.  A nice touch is to move just as he is stepping over you.

That's all for now!
Till next time!

Hi everyone!

I'm glad to say Sage is doing much better.  You might say she is one pleased pooping pup.  But we have had a couple of side effects from her stoppage.  She has had some accidents inside the house with her wetting.  But she is getting better.  She has also decided to pee on the concrete instead of the grass.  While this may stop the dead spots in the grass I don't want her wetting on the walk.  She for some reason she is not sure she wants to go into the grass.  I wonder if she go stung or bit by a bug and is nervis about the grass now.  They said at the dog class that a dog only remembers things for a few seconds.  I can tell you Sage has a great memory.  Last night she was checking out a toad in the driveway.  Later that night she when we came out you could tell she was looking for the toad.  She clearly remembered it.
My sister Peggy left early Saturday morning to go back to Pensacola.  And now it is time to retrain Sage.  My sister thought it would be funny to teach Sage to be a lap dog.  But the only person Sage would sit on was my sister.  The first time it happened Peggy just called Sage and she jumped up in her lap.  45 pounds of happy, squirmy puppy.  Lets just say my sister had her hands full ( and her lap).  Friday night Mike and his sister Laura and Peggy and myself had an early birthday party for me.  My parents sent a great big pelican to go on my front porch.  Here is a picture of the pelican, Sage, and Moose together.  I think they were getting ready to play twister.

Time for me to go.  See you soon!

Update!

Sage is still having problems.  She was again crying when she tried to go potty and can not go.  So back to the vet we went.  The Vet put her on some meds in case she has an infection.  But believes she has just eaten something that has her stopped up.  She said as long as she was still eating and not throwing up to stay on this course of action.  For some reason she all of sudden has taken to peeing on the sidewalk.  This started last night.  After she feels better we will have to break her of this habit really fast.  It is nice that my sister is here still and can keep an eye on her.  As Sage would say two paws up for Peggy.

$40.00 POOP

Hi everyone!
Ron & Sage here.

Ron:  We thought we tell you about out experience today!
Sage;  You may not want to read this while eating dinner.
Ron  I never suggest reading our blog during dinner.
Ron:  Anyway I got home from work and took Sage outside.
Sage:  Yes I get no privacy!
Ron: Well she tries to go but can't and is crying a little like she was in pain.
Sage: It was extreme pain but I try not to let on.  I'm tuff!
Ron: Yeah right.   Any way I was talking to my Mom on the phone and she said yes get her to the vet.
Sage : She a very smart woman.
Ron So we get to the vet and the lady at the counter asks if Sage is the kind of dog that would eat something she shouldn't?  I said she is the kind of dog that will eat every thing she shouldn't.
Sage:  I resemble that remark.  So we go in to see the Doc.  And two nice ladies come into the room.  The one lady wad holding me and petting me and the other checked me over.  Then she said she was going to take my temperature.
Ron:  Yep and it wasn't and oral thermometer was it?
Sage: NO!   And Ron gave me no warning.   He could of said something like watch the back door or something.
Ron:  Yep we did not get an aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaw from Sage we got a whoooohoooooo from her.  But her temp was fine
.Doctor putting on rubber glove
Sage: Yes but again Ron did not warn me why she was putting on that plastic glove.
Ron: Why ruin the surprise.   The Doc put her finger right up Sage's butt and checked out her poop. She said it looked fine but she had some grass in there.
Sage: Then she picked up a large spray bottle and headed for my butt!  I was scared to death where she planed on putting that.
Ron:  Oh she was just cleaning you up.  About this time a third lady came in and said she was going to bring my wife in.   I'm thinking this is going to be a good trick.  I hope she's cute and has a lot of money.
Sage:  It was just his sister Peggy who is here on vacation.  So the Doc said I looked fine and they even fed me some food while I was there to make sure I had an appetite.  She then said for us to go outside for a walk and see if there is still a back up at the Poo Poo station.
Ron:  So Sage, Peggy and I go outside for a little walk.  And after a couple of tries we have success!  She went three times!
Sage: Who's counting?
Ron:  I was at that point.  That was a $40.00 Poop!
Sage:  Actually I went three times so it was $13.33 a poop.
Ron:  So we were sent home and are keeping an eye on her.  They said to feed her can dog food for a couple of days.
Sage: yep but I'm doing much better now.
Ron:  We are waiting for her to poop again.
Sage: you know that's allot of pressure to preform when you have someone chasing you around the yard with a flashlight saying  go potty.
Ron:  well we will let you know how it all comes out.
Sage: that's was bad!   Did you really say that.
Sage Till next time.
