Whats the Buzzzzz

Sage Here
Sorry Kacey I just had to post this one!  I hope you  stung someone for dressing you like that.
Till next time!
Hi Guys
I have a lot of people asking me about the stalker.  OK one person, my Sister  Well Sage kind of went a little overboard.  The stalker is a very lice lady who works in the same building I work at.  Tammy reads Sage's blog and said one day that she would love to take Sage home with her.  From that she got the Stalker!  But it is true she did get in a fight with a squirrel, with the squirrel throwing things from the roof at her.  If you knew Tammy you would understand how it could happen.  Anyway it is Saturday morning and I just can’t get Sage to understand we can sleep in on the weekends.  She still wants to get up and be fed.  At least she made it to 6:30 this morning.  So after feeding her and taking her out, I thought I take a nap on the couch.  That’s when Sage decided to play with Dino.  Dino is a toy she got last week and it has the loudest squeaker I ever heard in a toy.  On top of it She has a bad case of gas.  I may change her name to Tootie.  I was thinking of changing her name to Hoover because she sucks up everything on the ground  Any way it looks like Sage is ready to take a nap herself so I’m going to take advantage of it.
See You Later

Alert! Alert!

Sage Here
I knew it was going to happen.  You know with my new found fame from my many many follower of my blog.  ( note from Ron:  There were 5 last week).  It was bound to happen.  I was expecting the paparazzi but I guess if it can happen to David Letterman it could happen to me.  I HAVE A STALKER.  Yes there is a woman who has threatened to kidnap me.  Just yesterday while Ron was working on a light at work, just minding his own business.  She ran out and tried to shake him off the ladder.  I believe she was trying to do away with Ron to get to me.  I have also heard from the squirrels in the back yard that there was an incident where the squirrel had to throw roofing tiles at her and one family of  squirrels ended up homeless. It's a sad sad world.  I'm going to talk to Ron about getting a disguise for when I go out.  It is a little know fact that Lassie would dress like a Pug when she would go out.  Well that's what Kacey told me. Rin Tin Tin use to use the alias Mr Tinkles when he went out.  I was thinking of getting a mop to wear and go as a Puli  (See picture upper right)  Hope the stalker  isn't reading this!  My friend Butch sent me a picture of a disguise he suggested but I think I'll pass. ( picture below). Well I got to go work on my disguise so...
Till Next Time!   If I haven't been dog-napped

School

Sage working on her Lab top

Sage Here.

OK I'm starting to have my doubts about our Wednesday night class.  It seems like it's more about training me than it is training Ron.  But at least I got to play with Rocko.  Rocko is a Saint Barnard and he is a little older than me and allot bigger.  We had allot of fun together.    They did show us that when we nip at our humans it hurts them.  So I have backed off on the nipping.  I guess we have show and tell next week because they told us to bring a toy with us.  I think I will bring Dino with.  They also said something about having learned a trick by the 5th week.  I think I'll show them the one where I squat and Ron comes running and takes me outside.  It's one of my favorites.
After Class we went over to Mikes house.  He has a big back yard that goes down to a lake.  I saw a thing called a duck swimming on the lake.  Boy did I have a strong erg to go in the water after those ducks.  It was like something inside me was telling me "get the duck"!  After that we went to a house by Mikes where a cute little girl named Faith came out and played with me.  They also have a German Shepard that is a couple of months older than me that I played with.  I showed Faith and her Mom Susan how I can sit and lay down.  They were impressed how well I do this.  Humans are so easily entertained.  Its like the game fetch.  As long as I bring him the ball he will stand there and throw it.  Hey if it keeps him happy I'm all for it.  Any way after that we went home and I settled down for a nice dental bone.  Well that's all for now.
Till next time!                             Sage's dream last night!

No Biting.

                                                                         OUCH!

Sage is a playful pup and like many pups she likes to nip when she plays.  ( Just ask Kacey)  And with sage she is in play mode 90 % of the time.  Last week at Puppy class I heard the instructor telling another person to say ouch and pull your hand away like she hurt you when she nips you.  I tried that with Sage and I also say afterward "no biting ".  The difference in Sage in just one week has been huge.  I can now reach down to pet her even when she is all worked up and she very seldom will nip at me.

That's all for now!
Ron

Just a Walking

Sage here!

Oh my gosh!  I think he tried to walk my paws off.  We went for a walk down the bike path yesterday.  We usually will walk down to union street.  That takes us about twenty minutes to get there and back.  But yesterday he just kept going and going and going.  We walked all the way down to County Line Road.  It took us 45 minutes to walk there and back.  I having a problem convincing  Ron that we should stop ever time we pass someone because I know they all are there just to play with me.  If I didn't know better I would think he was trying to tire me out.  When we got back I had a nice dinner of Puppy chow.  After dinner Ron started to put the cabinet door back on the K-9 Bristol.  Good thing I was there to help.  I got right in there and inspected Ron's work.  Then Ron gave me a new toy last night.  I named it Dino. (see picture)  It's a cross between a ball and a green dinosaur.  I give it two paws up.  You can grab it by the legs and toss it across the room.  I chased it around the house for over an hour.  So around 8:00 I thought I would take it easy and to a nice nap on Ron's lap.  It was a nice way to end the day.
Tonight we have our second obedience class.  So I once again will work with Ron.  I hope he learns something this time.  He still thinks he is in charge.  Wish me luck!
Till next time!

Not Much

Hi Guys
Not a lot going on here.  Sage & I went out for a nice walk in hope of wearing her out.  It didn't work she was bouncing off the walls all the way to bed time last night.  Finally about fifteen minutes before bedtime she was running full speed around the living room and ran out of gas.  One second she is running full speed the next second she is asleep behind the chair.  That's a puppy for you.  She seems to listen pretty good for a puppy.  I tell her time to go to sleep and she just climbs into her bed.  And she sleeps though the night. She has given up on the the dog behind the glass wall.  She use to stand at the mirror and bark and paw at her reflection.  We called the other dog mimic because it did whatever she did.  Well, not much else to tell you so I thought I leave you with this little story.
A guy was looking for a new hunting  dog. He found a Labrador that could actually walk on water to retrieve a duck. Shocked by this, he was sure none of his friends would ever believe him.
He decided to try to break the news to a friend of his, a pessimist by nature, and invited him to hunt with him and his new Labrador retriever. As they waited by the shore, a flock of ducks flew by. They fired, and a duck fell. The Labrador responded and jumped into the water. The Labrador Retriever, however, did not sink but instead walked across the water to retrieve the bird, never getting more than his paws wet. The friend saw everything but did not say a single word.
On the drive home the hunter asked his friend, “Did you notice anything unusual about my new Labrador?” “I sure did,” responded his friend. “Your Labrador retriever can’t swim”.
 See You later!

Weekend Update

Sage here!

Friday Kacey took her humans and went back to Florida.  I miss all the extra treats I was getting.  Plus it was kinda fun to give Kacey a little nip in the butt when she wasn't looking.  Saturday Ron built a doggy bed out of plastic pipes and a beach towel.  Two paws up on the doggy bed.  It's nice and soft! On Sunday Ron turned a cabinet in the kitchen into what he calls a feeding station. I call it K-9 Bistro.  He cut the side of the cabinet out and put a low shelf with cutouts for my dishes to sit in.  He also installed LED lights that are motion activated.  In the picture the side I'm at will have a cabinet door there.  So now my water dish is not where someone can step on it and spill my water.  We also went for a couple of walks over the weekend.  Where every we go people comment on how cute I am.  That's me, just a regular chick magnet.  I also worked with Ron for our obedience class.  He is getting pretty good.  I now have him trained to give me a treat when I lay down.  When we go out for a walk Ron is doing better.  He stays on my right but every once in a while I have to try to speed him up.  He then gets grumpy and says " no pulling" .  But we are working on it.  Oh no, I'm missing my Lassie reruns.  Oh great Timmy stuck in the well again.   When isn't that kid in trouble?
Someone should put a leash on that kid.
Till next time!                     Lassie after she saved that kid again!

What do you mean they left!
If I promise not to bite Kacey in the butt will they come back?

Notes from Sage

Sage here!
Allot has been happening the last few days.  We had class a couple of days ago, but I don't think we got to far with Ron.  He still thinks he's the pack leader.  Kacey & I are getting along better but every once in a while I give her a nip right in the butt just for the fun of it. Peggy kept calling me Butt biter.  Oh this was funny.  Ron & I went out this morning because I still can't get Ron trained to let me just go on the carpet.  So it's raining and we go out the door and Ron is standing in the yard in the rain.  When he realized I was still standing on the porch nice and dry watching him.  Once again I was called a little booger.
Today Ron's Mom & Dad, Sister and Kasey will head back to Florida.  We have had allot of fun this past week.  With them gone it will be very quiet around the house this weekend.  There have been allot of people coming over to visit so I have gotten allot of attention.  All I have to do is give them the puppy dog eyes and they just melt in my paw.  I thought it was nice the weather man on TV outlined the whole path they will take back to Florida in red on a map.  But Ron's Dad did not seem to grateful.  Anyway I hope they have a safe trip back.  Next time they come to visit I will be full size.  Watch out Kacey!  Oh yeah, Ron about your nose,  Lets just say there is no pug in you.  ( he he he ).
Till next time!

We Have Class

Peggy & Sage                                                                       Mom & Kacey

                                                       Hi Guys
Last night we had our first puppy class at the Valpo Canine Club.  Mom went with us to watch and root Sage on.  First thing we noticed was an eleven month old German Shepard that we will call Gigantor.  My friend Julie was working with him and had her hands full.  We only had three other dogs there for the class which was nice.  Sage worked on coming when called, sitting, laying down and walking on the lead.  Sage did very well and they said she was a quick learner.  By the end Sage was getting antsy and started barking.  The instructor said that meant Sage was tired and we should stop.  Boy was she right.  When we got into the car Sage fell asleep in Moms arms.  After that we all went home and celebrated Dads birthday.  Today is the last day for Mom, Dad,  Peggy and Kacey visit.  They will pack up and head back to Florida on Friday while I'm at work.   My brother Dave will meet them in Indy and drive back to Florida with them to spend his spring break.  Four adults, luggage and Kacey in the car for a 14 hour drive.  Good luck with that!  I have really enjoyed having them here and looking forward to visiting them in Florida this summer.  Kacey and Sage are doing much better together.  Sage has figured out that Kacey is not much in to doggie games and the two of them are becoming friends.  And last a little note to Sage.  I saw your last post and the comment about the size of my nose.  I do not have a big nose.
Time for me to go.

Happy Birthday Dad

Sage and I want to wish my Dad the best Birthday ever!!

Busy week

Sage here
Wow has it been a busy week.  I usually get to sleep during the day so when Ron gets home I have all sorts of energy.  But with Kacey, Peggy and Ron's Mom & Dad here I've been kept busy.  First of all, Kacey is an older dog and blind in one eye.  So she is content to sit with Elaine and watch me play.  No matter how I try she just not interested.   So I have been backing off and letting her relax.  I try to help her out like if she leaves any extra food in her dish I finish it for her.
Ron & I played a game the other day where he was laying on the floor covering his head.  I was so excited I was barking and jumping all over him.  But just as I jumped Ron looked up and I got his nose.  He dose have a pretty good size nose.  I think there may be a little Lab in him.  Any way Ron's sister, Dad and Mom are very nice and Ron loves having them here.  Plus I keep getting extra treats with all them being around.  Peggy keeps leaving her leather sandals on the floor.  So the way I look at it, it's game on!   She see's me with them and jumps up and grabs them and calls me a little booger.  It's just a little game we play. Tonight I  have our first class so I can work on training Ron better.  Ron's Mom is going to come along and watch.  She is still trying to train Ron too.  Wish us luck, he is kind of set in his ways.  Oh  I got to go.  Ron's Dad is heading for the treats again.  I don't want to miss out.
Till next time!

A Word From Kacey

Hi everyone Kacey here.

We just arrived at Ron's & Sages house after a 15 hour drive. I thought I would sneak in and put something on Sage's blog.  Sages Lab top is different form the I-pug I usually use. Wow dose Sage like to play.  I just settled down next to Peggy for a nap when Sage jumped up by me and startled me.  I just about ended up sitting on top of Peggy's head.  Ron kept trying to get Sage to calm down but with three new humans and me in the house she was very excited.  See I'm a lap dog and Sage is a Lab dog.  I have to admit she is a cute puppy.  ( not as cute as I was ).  One thing I found out is I have to watch my food.  I left some for later and when I came back Sage had ate it.  That's OK, later I'm going to sneak down and chew on her toys for a while. Oh Elaine is sitting down, time for me to go take my place on her knee.  A Pugs work is never done.

Kacey

Sage here!

Kacey is on her way with Ron’s sister, Mom & Dad.  In honor of their visit I thought I’d share some Pug facts with you.

In the 16th century, Pugs were the traditional pet of European royalty and can be seen in many old world paintings.

In the 1700’s, Napoleons wife Josephine had her little Pug, Fortune, smuggle notes under his collar to Napoleon while she was imprisoned in Les Carmes.

Pugs have appeared in many movies, like Men in Black, The Adventures of Milo and Otis, and Disney's Pocahontas.

The American Kennel Club recognized the Pug in 1885

Pugs may be stubborn.  ( Ron says that’s an understatement )

The pug is classified as a toy breed dog and weighs 14 to 18 pounds.

Pugs are currently the 14th most popular dog breed in America according to the American Kennel Association .

Till next time!

Funny humans

Sage here!

I just read Ron’s post below.  I thought I’d share some of the funny things humans do.

Yes I actually got him to stand out in the rain at 3:00 in the morning going “go potty go potty”.   I laughed my tail off.  And come on! Leave a pair of brand new socks on the chair and leave the room!  He just asked for that one.  Here, I have a fun one!  When he is not looking hide his shoe behind the chair.  That one never gets old.  If you want to go old school, go lay down by where he is sitting and fart.  When he smells it get up, give him a dirty look and walk away.  This works best when there are multiple humans in the room.   Oh yah, If he has his shoes off and is just sitting there, run by and bite his toe’s.  That always gets a response.  Well I got to go.  No I really mean I gotta go!  Someone open that door!
Till next time!

Nice day

What a day!  We are getting May weather and it is only March..  Mom, Dad and Peggy are going to get here just in time fore a week of 70's temperatures.  Sage & I have been taking advantage of the nice weather to get out and take some walks.  She is doing better on the leash, but it will take some time to get her not to pull.  Sage went to the vet to get her shots.  She was such a good girl.  She had two kids sitting on the floor playing with her until it was her time to see the Vet.  Everyone kept saying how cute!  I thought they were talking about me but it turned out they were talking about Sage.  She got her shot and never yelped or anything.  When we got home Daisey was in the front yard so she went over to play for a while.  Then it was time to go back in and keep getting ready for Mom, Dad & Peggy.  I was moving furniture around in the guest room when Sage got so excited about seeing Kacey she had an accident.  Oh well 10 days without an accident for a puppy is pretty good.  Around 8:30 we decided to go for a night time walk around the block.  It was still so warm I did not have to have a jacket on.  I thought we would end today with a few "You know you have a puppy when.".

You know you have a puppy when...you find yourself standing in the backyard at 3:00 in the morning in the rain saying " go potty go potty".

You know you have a puppy when...you leave you socks on the chair while you go get your shoes in the other room and when you return there is only one sock left.

You know you have a puppy when...the ends of your shoe laces are all chewed up.

You know you have a puppy when...there are more doggie treats on the counter than there are people treats.

See you next time.

Words from Sage

Sage here!

What a weekend!  First of all I went all week without an accident in the house.  To me it would be easier just to go on the carpet, but it makes Ron happy when I go outside. We been working on walking with a leash. This is working out great!  I can keep a better eye on Ron and make sure he doesn’t wander off.  We walked down the bike path to Union Street and back.  That was a pretty good walk for my short legs.  We also took a few walks around the block.  The one time I knew Ron forgot to bring something with in case I made a deposit.  So just for fun I left a little something on the far side of the block. We had to walk back home and get something to clean it up and walk all the way around the block again so Ron could pick it up.
We went next door to visit Daisy a couple of times over the weekend. I like going over to Daisy’s house to play.  Daisy sometime cheats, she goes up on the couch and I know Ron does not want me on the couch so I stay down.   Although Ron caught me on the couch yesterday so I tried the big sad eyes with the ears down but it did not work.  I got kicked off the couch anyway.
Ron worked in the computer room to get it cleaned out for his sister.  Kacey is brining Ron’s sister and  Mom & Dad up Wednesday for a week to visit.  I tried to help Ron by dragging things out of the room for him.  I have also still not been able to figure out how to get that other dog out from behind the glass wall.  I was barking at her but she just keeps copying everything I do.  Oh well.  Time for me to go.
Till next time!

8:00 Friday and we will have a a full week with no accidents!

Getting Ready

Hi guys

In less than a week Mom, Dad. Peggy, and Kacey will be here to visit.  Sage & I are looking forward to having them here.  Sage & Kacey will get to meet in person, or should I say K9 for the first time.  They have been sending each other flea-mails and are all excited.  Although it is clear by the picture below from Peggy’s blog (peggyspensacoladream.blogspot.com)   that someone has a little bit of an attitude.

So this weekend Sage & I are going to do some spring cleaning.  We are expecting them to get in sometime Wednesday night and I sure Peggy will want Gelsosomo’s Pizza.  I know we will have a great time.  On the fun scale of 1 to 10 we will have an eleven.  The truth to be known I think one of the big reasons my sister is coming is because the Kmart in Portage is closing.  She spent so much time shopping there I use to say her favorite color was Blue light.  Is it just coincidence that Kmart went under not long after Peggy moved to Florida?  So anyway I think she is coming here to say good by to her old friend.  But I’m looking forward to spending time with them and can’t wait to see them  Even the Pug with the attitude.
See you later!

Sage Here
Last night Ron was sitting there watching TV and going through a box of old papers to be tossed out when he heard a mans voice.  He looked at the door thinking someone was here.  But nope, so he thought it must have been the TV.  Then he  heard the voice again. He said "I thought I heard someone say sausage". It was driving him  crazy.  I just sat there with an innocent look on my face.  Nope,  Finally he figured out I had found an old toy he had for Kacey.  When I chewed on it the toy would say snausages. I thought the whole thing was pretty funny!  Oh gotta go Till next time!

Hi Guys
Last night I was sitting there watching TV and going through a box of old papers to be tossed out when I heard a mans voice.  I looked at the door thinking my friend Stu was at the door.  But nope, so I thought it must have been the TV.  Then I heard the voice again and I thought it said sausage. Was I going crazy? Were we being haunted by a ghost who wants breakfast?  Nope,  Sage found an old toy I had for Kacey.  When she chewed on it the toy would say snausages. Sage seemed amused by the whole thing.

We also went out for a walk around the block again.  Sage did pretty good. The First half of the walk she walked behind me, and the second half she decided to lead the way.  Getting her to stay by my side is going to be a little more of a challenge.  When we got back we went in the back yard and Sage chased a tennis ball for a while.  Well time for me to go.
See you later,
 Ron

Nice Day

Sage here!
Wow what a great day.  Warm and sunny.  When Ron got home I decided to take him outside to get some fresh air.  We took our first walk around the block together.  I'm having a little problem with Ron.  He keeps thinking that he should be in charge.  It's like he thinks he is the leader of the pack. Yah right I'll get him trained.  When we  were about half way around the block a man came out and said what a beautiful dog.  I think he was a very intelligent man.  When we got back I played toss with Ron.  I would give Ron a tennis ball and have him toss it across the yard.  I'd go retrieve the ball  and make him toss it again.  You know adopting a human is a lot of responsibility.  You have to take them outside and make sure they get plenty of exercise.  We also went next door.  Ruby and I sniffed butt and talked while Ron & Rick played with some thing called a wood burning stove.  After that we went home and I settled down for a nice dinner of Puppy Chow..  Well that's all for now.  Till next time!

Getting Bigger

I knew Sage was getting bigger but it really showed yesterday.  I stopped by next door with Sage so she could play with Daisy.  Two weeks ago Sage was only half as big as Daisy.  Now she is almost the same size.  Sage and Daisy had a ball! They chased each other all over the room.   Sage kept trying to get Daisy’s tail which kept Daisy on the move.  We all laughed watching the two of them play.  It didn't take long for Sage to find Daisy’s food dish.  I had to keep an eye on Sage so Daisy’s food did not disappear.  One thing a Lab is known for is acting like she is being starved to death.   Sage should get a Emmy for the act she puts on.  So we went home & I thought Sage would be tired after all that.  But she ran around the house for a good hour when we returned home.  Well that’s all for now.  See you later!

Weekend Rap-up

Sage here.

Hope you all had a good weekend.  Saturday I worked on Ron's training.  All I had to do is sit my butt on the ground and Ron gave me a treat.  I'd sit & he would feed me.  I'm getting him trained well.  Ron kept working in the computer room cleaning it up for when Kacey brings Ron's Mom, Dad & Sister up in just under two weeks.  While Ron was cleaning he put a foot stool by the front window with a towel over it so I could lay there and see out the window.  I napped there for over an hour.  (picture above).
Sunday afternoon Ron went out and when he came back he said he had a treat for me.  But first I needed a bath he said.  The bath was not so bad, nice and warm and I have to admit I do smell much better.  Then it was treat time!  I got a thing called a dental bone!  Man was that ever good.  Then Ron gave me a peace of peanut butter bread.  I was licking that off the roof of my mouth all night.  Well it's my nap time so....Till next time!

The Other Dog

Sage Here
I have Daisy who lives on one side of us and Ruby who lives on the other side of us.  But there is this other dog I keep seeing in our house but she won't come out to play.  Ron calls her mimic.  She seems to be stuck behind a glass wall.  She looks the same age as me and looks a lot like me.  When I go up to the glass wall she always comes up to the wall too.  If I lift a paw she will too.  If I jump she jumps at the same time.  Last night Ron was watching TV in bed and I was sitting on the bed with him.  I looked over and that other dog was sitting on a bed looking back at me.  I walked over to the edge of the bed and she did the same.  I was standing on the edge of the bed looking at her and she was doing the same when Ron laughing, picked me up called me a knuckle head and took me to my crate.  I don't know what that was about.  Any way I have to figure out how to get around the glass wall so we can play.  Even though she copies every thing I do.  Well it's time for me to go.  Till next time!

Slow Day

Hi Guys
Not to much news for you today.  Last night Sage was not feeling real good.  We tried to go for a walk on the bike path.  Sage started out real good walking with a leash on, but she got chilled even though it was in the mid 50's.  So I picked her up and carried her home and made sure she was warmed up.   I put her in her crate while I ran out to get my Taxes done.  When I got back she came out and played for about an hour.  But about 8:00 she went in her crate on her own and slept through the night.  This morning I was glad to see she was back to her playful self.

Here are a few things I've learned.
1.  Shoelaces are considered a delicacy to Labs.
2.  Number 1 makes it hard to tie your shoes when a Lab is around.
3.  A puppy can pull 5 pounds of stuffing out of a stuffed toy the weighs only 5 ounces.
4.  No matter how much she just ate she expects a treat for going potty.
5.  Lab puppies fart!
